The man, in his 40s, and the woman, in his 30s, whose identities will not be disclosed as they have not yet been charged, were met by investigators in the afternoon.

At least one of them risks being charged with murder at the Longueuil courthouse on Thursday if the chief of criminal justice and prosecution concludes that the evidence collected by police is strong enough.

Manon Boisvert's body was discovered on January 5 in her Toyota Echo parked in a commercial car park in Longueuil, at the intersection of Boulevard Roland-Therrien and Chemin Du Tremblay.

Several investigative steps have been taken by the authorities over the past five months, including a full search of the suspects’ home in early April.

Very early in the morning, police officers from the tactical intervention group had actually broken down the door of their accommodation on rue Brébeuf in Longueuil, waking up the couple and the woman’s two teenagers.

For 48 hours

The use of this special commando was necessary because the authorities had reason to believe that the people could be violent and that there could be weapons in their homes.

The extensive search lasted no less than 48 hours.

Cut throat

Manon Boisvert, 54, was reportedly killed on January 2, according to surveillance footage viewed by investigators.

Curiously, his body was not found until three days later in his car, a 2003 Toyota Echo. It was parked outside Caisse Desjardins, in the car park of a small shopping complex at the junction of Roland-Therrien-Boulevard Du Tremblay Road.

The mother of three lay on the driver’s side with her throat cut.
