The networks ICI ARTV, ICI Télé, Télé-Québec and APTN celebrate the National Day of Indigenous Peoples.
On the occasion of this day, the various partner networks present the television event “Le grand solstice”, which focuses on the musical culture of the Aborigines and their artists.
This great show, which we promise will be colorful, will spotlight both local and non-local artists.
Anachnid, Aysanabee, Émile Bilodeau, Beatrice Deer, Ariane Moffatt, Scott-Pien Picard and Samian, among others, will take part in the event idealized by singer-songwriter Elisapie Isaac – who is also in charge of artistic direction – and Marie Carol Christmas.
Filmed in Pointe-des-Cascades by Les Films Sanajik Productions, the artistic and cultural event brings together Quebec’s 11 Aboriginal nations and represents them both on and off camera. It also combines tradition and modernity while inviting community, inclusion and sharing.
Aïcha Bastien N’Diaye, Buffalo Hat Singers, DJ Shub, Joseph Sarenhes, Violent Ground and Willows will also take part in the celebrations leading up to the National Day.
“Le grand solstice” will be broadcast on June 20th at 8pm on ICI ARTV and APTN and the next day at the same time on ICI Télé and Télé-Québec. The party will be broadcast in stereo on ICI Musique.
On ICI ARTTV, “Le grand solstice” is followed by the documentary “Elisapie – Facing the music” as part of “Lundi culture”, Monday, June 20, at 9 p.m. It narrates the singer’s personal and creative journey as well as an awareness of his identity.
