Juan Carlos Oblitas denies Peru havent prepared for the penalty

Juan Carlos Oblitas, sporting director of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), gave a press conference this Friday, June 17th. Among other things, the leader referred to the definition of the game between the Peruvian team by penalties and Australia for the consolation round of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and found that every detail was planned.

“I didn’t see the penalties. There was no television in the dressing room. I’ve seen the 90 minutes plus supplement. That they didn’t prepare in prison is wrong: they say it out of ignorance or malice. The last training day they practiced before Costa Rica arrives. It’s obviously practiced, but in-game it may vary. Cueva and Carrillo were in the relationship, but they were dating and couldn’t kick. Everything was planned,” he said.

On the other hand, the manager pointed out that the Bicolor didn’t show a remarkable performance against the Socceroos. “I don’t think we played well. If we had to make a good game, we didn’t. That’s all. I remember when qualifying for the World Cup (2018) the small details mattered and that’s happening here too. The game itself wasn’t good and that led to penalties,” he said.

The meeting made me very optimistic and I hope we will have an answer by the end of the month,” he said.
