Young Ukrainian mathematician Konstantin Olmezov committed suicide in Russia after being arrested trying to leave the country.
This was announced by the Ukrainian Association of Mathematicians on Twitter. Russian lawyer Dmitry Zakhvatov reports on Telegram, quoted by Ukrinform: “I received a report saying that this morning he (20 horrors of what’s going on. A talented and promising mathematician. According to lawyer Zakhvatov, quoted by UNIAN, an administrative protocol “was fabricated against the scientist and Olmezov was detained for 15 days because of it”.
