Annie Hall has remained a benchmark in Woody Allen’s career, the first film in which he gave up his overtly comic work after follies like Bananas and The Sleepyhead. Those were different times at the Hollywood Academy. Beneath the seemingly casual aspect of her production, Annie Hall hides a creative delicacy that made Allen a master of comedy.
