Lisa Wilkinson “was given a good distance from Karl Stefanovic” at the Logie Awards as organizers made sure they weren’t seated next to each other
Tensions between former Today co-hosts Lisa Wilkinson and Karl Stefanovic appear to be running high following their explosive memoir.
The breakfast TV colleagues-turned-competitors had to sit far apart at Sunday night’s Logie Awards, reports The Australian.
“When seating was arranged, care was taken to ensure that Wilkinson had sufficient distance to Stefanovic,” says the newspaper’s media diary.

Wilkinson sat at the Channel 10 table in the second row while Stefanovic sat at the front of the room at Nine’s table.
Tensions between the two escalated late last year when Wilkinson released her memoir, It Wasn’t Meant To Be Like This.
Her book contained a chapter devoted to her dismissal from Channel Nine and falling out with Stefanovic over a salary dispute.

She claims her co-host pitted rival networks Nine and Seven against each other to secure a better deal while she was left in the dust.
“Weeks later … the media was inundated with stories that Stefanovic was restless at Today and was looking for greener pastures — and more civilized working hours — at Channel Seven,” she wrote.
Stefanovic was soon at the center of a bidding war between Nine and Seven that resulted in him re-signing a five-year contract with Nine worth at least $2 million a year.
Wilkinson left the Today Show in October 2017 after a reported row over the gender pay gap. According to reports at the time, Neun was “unable to live up to her expectations” after demanding equal pay with Stefanovic. (Pictured together on the Today Show)
Wilkinson’s deal was worth significantly less, about $780,000 a year, and lasted only two years.
She was reportedly pushed out the door by Nine executives in 2017.
In January 2018, she joined Channel 10 in an alleged multi-million dollar deal to host The Sunday Project.
Since joining The Sunday Project, Wilkinson has interviewed the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kylie Minogue and Bradley Cooper.
Despite working for competing networks, Wilkinson and Stefanovic appeared to be friends as they attended an event on the Gold Coast last month to announce the Logie nominees
Although Wilkinson and Stefanovic work for competing networks, they appeared to be friends when they attended an event last month to announce the 2022 Logie nominees on the Gold Coast.
They looked friendly as they were spotted in public together for the first time since the publication of their memoir.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph at the time, Wilkinson said: “It was lovely to see Karl and a reminder for both of us of the many great years we shared together.”
