A 23-year-old man who was badly injured while filming a donut making car in Manhattan is clinging to life.

A man who was hit by a car while filming Donuts in Manhattan over the weekend has undergone surgery on both arms but is still in need of reconstructive surgery on his face and two broken hips.

Christopher Brito, 23, filmed a dangerous driver’s stunt at the intersection of Vandam and Greenwich streets in Hudson Square just after midnight on Saturday.

Disturbing surveillance video shows he accidentally tripped and hit the ground right in the path of a red two-door Infiniti after he tried to approach the corner of his roundabouts.

“It’s terrible,” his mother Jacqueline told the New York Post. “His forehead is smashed, and so is his nose.”

On the GoFundMe page that raised over $13,000, she described her son as “outgoing, kind, smart, hardworking, respectful, driven and dedicated, especially when it comes to his sneakers.” She added that his “skull was cracked and his arms, ribs, nose and pelvis were broken.”

She says his condition is slowly improving after he was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

“If I tell him to shake his head, he will start shaking his head yes,” she told the Post. “He can also move his finger.”

The police described the car as being marked with yellow letters “Tyler Spec”.

The driver, described by authorities as a light-skinned man, accelerated and fled the scene.

“His friend told me they don’t even know (the driver),” Jacqueline said.

“They are looking for him,” she added, although the police allegedly told her that the driver had a fake license plate. “I don’t even know why they do it. They do it on the street.

The GoFundMe fundraising page for Christopher says he is “unable to walk, talk, move, or eat at the moment.”

“He’s going to have major surgeries, he needs medication, and for now the doctors have said he’ll be recovering in intensive care over the next few weeks, possibly months.

“Those of you who know Christopher know that he is outgoing, kind, smart, hardworking, respectful, driven and dedicated, especially when it comes to his sneakers. I can tell, as his mother, that he has a great support system for friends and acquaintances outside of his family support. His father and I would really appreciate donations, and if you could please pray for my son. Thanks!’

According to officials, Christopher suffered a fractured skull, head injury and severe body trauma following the impact. He was quickly taken to Bellevue Hospital.

According to police, no arrests were made, but the investigation into the hit-and-run is ongoing.
