(ANSA) — ROME, JUNE 20 — American actor and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Ben Stiller met Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv today. “You are my hero,” said the Hollywood star as he greeted the Ukrainian leader upon his arrival at the Presidential Palace. And underlines how much Zelensky does for his country and for the world.
“They had a great acting career before, but now…” Stiller added. “Not as big as yours,” Zelensky replies with amusement, as seen in a video of the meeting posted on YouTube.
The American star, who arrived in the Kyiv region yesterday to bring humanitarian aid, said in an interview with the President of Ukraine: “It’s really hard to understand what’s happening here if you don’t see it in person. Today I went to Irpin and I saw such a level of destruction, it’s one thing to see it on TV and on social media, it’s one thing to see it from here and talk to people,” he explained.
Speaking of communication, Zelenskyy said that even if “it is not interesting to talk about war every day, it is very important for us so that people do not forget and because the pressure on Russia does not decrease”. (HAND).
