It wasn’t long ago that Apple hired Manfred Harrer, a former vice president of Porsche chassis development, to help develop the On Again / Off Again Apple Car set to go into production in 2025. But a recent article from Reuters speculates that a deal that would see Porsche build an all-electric car for a Cupertino-based electronic car company might come together. ..
It’s not a crazy suggestion either. Consider Porsche turning its back on the Volkswagen / Audi corporate EV architecture and building its own EV platform. Porsche, called the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, reportedly tried to convince senior enterprises to build top-shelf Audis and Bentleys based on PPE rather than ID. Platform (it’s not a bad platform in itself).
Porsche CEO Oliver Blume has a history with Haller, helping the two companies make things easier and bring to PPE an economies of scale that Porsche alone may not be able to reach. If you’re looking for a high-end Apple Car that competes with the Model S or Lucid Air, you could do much worse than starting with a Porsche Taycan.
In addition, knowledgeable people outside Europe also seem to be fueling the Porsche-Apple partnership.
The AppleCar project team has been disbanded for some time. Reorganization within the next 3-6 months is required to reach the mass production target by 2025.

Indeed, the only thing that can be said about the proposed Porsche-Apple partnership is that it is not the development of infotainment software. “We already have Apple CarPlay. Mr. Bloom said in a video conference on annual financial results without specifying details. Still, Blume said that Porsche and Apple have traditionally worked closely together. Both companies state that they are at the same wavelength.
It’s easy to see how true these rumors are, but it’s worth noting that Porsche’s parent company Volkswagen is believed to be tinkering with the idea of spinning off Porsche with a Tesla-style all-electric IPO. Worth. .. Will contracts to manufacture Apple Cars help increase the value of standalone brands? Can they simply sell everything to Apple instead?
