A Long Island events coordinator has turned herself in to police over the death of an 87-year-old vocal coach who died after being pushed in the street two weeks ago.
Lauren Pazienza, 26, is currently in custody following the death of Barbara Gastern, a beloved Broadway vocal coach, who died on March 15, five days after she was pushed in what police thought was an accidental attack.
Gastern was walking to a taxi outside her Chelsea apartment building when she was attacked from behind.
Lauren Pazienza is pictured in a social media photo. She turned herself in to police on Tuesday and is now charged with manslaughter.
Broadway vocal coach Barbara Mayer Gastern died in hospital on Tuesday morning after being put on life support following an accidental attack last week.

The NYPD released photos of a young woman with fiery hair who they say may have been responsible for the attack. Looks like she got on the subway soon after.
This woman has now been identified as Pazienza, who lives in Astoria, Queens with her fiancé.
She is from Port Jefferson, Long Island.
The Gastern family has yet to comment on her arrest.
It remains unclear if there is any connection between the pair or if it was a random attack.
On March 10, Gastern, Broadway’s favorite vocal coach, was walking to a taxi outside her Chelsea apartment building when she was pushed from behind at 8:30 pm.
She hit her head and fell into a coma, and died four days later.
Pazienza turned herself in to a lawyer on Tuesday morning.
Gastern’s grandson AJ updates his Facebook page. She died on March 15, four days after being knocked to the ground.
