Meet Chef Sandra Bullock’s sister Gezin Bullock-Prado, a renowned pastry chef.

Sandra Bullock stepped onto the red carpet at the Lost City premiere on Monday night with her sister Jezine Bullock-Prado.

While Sandra, 57, may have the most recognition in the family, Gezine, 52, made a name for herself in the foodie world after leaving the production company she and Sandra founded in the ’90s.

With 38,000 followers on Instagram, Gesin has her own popular baking school with sold-out classes, published six books, and hosted her own Food Network show called Baked in Vermont.

Zhezin came to success in baking in a roundabout way – bypassing the law.

She graduated from Southwestern Law School in the 90s and joined the California State Bar at age 27, but loved to bake for fun on the side.

“In times of stress, I baked more and more,” she told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “It must have meant that my hobbies were elsewhere. When I was supposed to study at the bar, I baked instead.”

In 1995, she and her sister co-founded the production company Fortis Films, which went on to produce such hits as “Floats of Hope”, “Practical Magic” and “Miss Congeniality”.

It was while working with Fortis Films that she met her husband, storyboard artist Raymond Pardo, who worked on Floats of Hope and Practical Magic.

“We both felt like we were dropped from the same alien planet,” she told Dartmouth alumni magazine. “We just speak the same language.”

They married at Sandra’s home in Austin, Texas in 1999.

“Our age difference made it impossible to communicate when we were younger. I was a pest, annoyed my younger sister,” Gezine said. “It wasn’t until I got older that the age gap disappeared. When I was in high school, we really bonded.

But being a lawyer and president of Fortis, as Gezine later admitted to The Guardian, was not all she had to do. She said she finds the Los Angeles lifestyle “ruthless, tiring and frustrating”.

When her mother died in 2000, Gezine returned to baking for comfort, and within a few years she was ready for a change in her life.

“It took my mother to die and deal with it. I was with her when she died. I realized that I don’t like what I do in my main job,” she said.

In 2004, she and Raymond moved to Vermont and she has never looked back.

However, Raymond continued to work in Hollywood and his impressive resume also includes The Faculty, X-Men, Crimes Special, Two Weeks Notice, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Z Sister Society, ” The Internship, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (Parts 1 & 2), Night at the Museum: Mystery of the Tomb, Hot Pursuit, West Side Story, Project Adam and episodes of Stranger Things ”, “Wormwood” and “Good Doctor”.

Gesine said she enjoys teaching, and Mashed says tickets to her classes sell out in minutes.

“One thing I do admit is that baking for most home bakers is a form of relaxation and retreat, and for them it’s almost like a vacation,” she told Burlington Free Press. “They indulge in those moments that they can spend on baking.”

She has taken turns as a judge on cooking shows including America’s Best Baker, Bobby Flay’s Beat, Christmas Cookie, and The Worst Chefs.

And for two seasons, she had her own Food Network show Baked in Vermont.

“I write my books, I teach classes, I have to go outside because I have to take care of these animals. It’s a really sweet pastoral routine,” she said.

“We were brought up in such an unusual way that we were taught to be relatively private people,” she told The Guardian.

“I have friends and we are close. But when you are very closed, family becomes more and more important. These are the only people you want to share certain things with.

“Our age difference made it impossible to communicate when we were younger. I was a pest, an irritant of the younger sister. No girl in her tender years going through the ordeal of puberty wants her annoying little sister hanging around.

“It wasn’t until I got older that the age gap disappeared. When I was in high school, we became really close.”

But no doubt there are problems with the comparison to her “genetically gifted sister, and she revealed that people brazenly asked her, ‘Why don’t you look like her anymore?’

“I’m sorry I disappointed you, asshole,” she replies.
