The four-year-old dog stood over her in the elevator as she lay on her back and continued to bite her left hand.

The woman tried to push the pit bull away by punching him in the snout with her right hand and then managed to press the elevator button to go down to the lobby.

The woman reached for the elevator buttons and tried to get to the lobby, but was unable to get the elevator to move from the fifth floor, where her apartment is located. She was able to get down the stairs and was rescued by neighbors.

“When the animal jumped on her, all she thought was that if she stayed on the fifth floor, no one would save her,” a police source said.

As she struggled to sit up straight, the dog circled around her and attacked again before she could crawl out of the elevator, which was not moving.

As a result, the woman had to go from the corridor of the fifth floor to the lobby, where the neighbors rushed to her defense and dragged the dog away.

Cucuta police said the woman suffered broken fingers on her right hand, multiple fractures on her left hand, and lacerations on her upper limbs.

Authorities said they have 10 days to conduct a study of the dog’s behavior and determine its future, including the possibility of its euthanasia.
