The reality of the GOP in 2022 is laid bare in the own words of extremist Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) in a scathing new ad.
Greene’s assertion that lawmakers like her are “not the fringe” but “the base of the party” is echoed in the edited online spot published Tuesday by progressive PAC MeidasTouch.
The conspiracy theorist’s comments are cut along with footage of her parroting Kremlin talks about the Russian invasion of Ukraine, MP Madison Cawthorn (RN.C.) calling Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a “thug,” and the Former President Donald Trump, who welcomed the initials of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s incursion into the neighboring country as a “genius”.
The video below has garnered more than 340,000 views in the first 10 hours on Twitter alone.
The clip went viral when Greene faced backlash for blaming Ukraine for invading Russia.
“You see, Ukraine keeps poking the bear and poking the bear, which is Russia,” she told the Voice of Rural America Network. “Russia is very successful in its invasion, although we hear different things on TV,” she added, contrary to reports on the ground that suggest Putin’s plans have gone awry.
