Last Sunday (26th), during a special in honor of the singer Gilberto Gil in the Domingão com Huck program, the subject of the military dictatorship came to the fore. However, the moderator soon broke off the conversation. Then the fact became the target of criticism on social media.
At the moment, Gil reported on the time he was persecuted by the regime that lasted 20 years. “We were arrested on December 27, 1968), fifteen days after AI5. Next, Huck also pointed out the problem of political reprisals at the time. “I only think it’s important for the young people who watch us. If you imagine yourself spending four months in jail and six months in house arrest because of political disagreements or dissenting opinions because you think differently than the rest, you see the madness that prevails these days when people try to argue that you they can’t think of anything else,” he commented.
Gil then criticized people who want the return of a similar political regime. “And many even want this model of government, this model of state hegemony, to come back and want… So many people want dictatorship again,” he said.
Then the moderator interrupted the topic and moved on to the other topic of conversation. “Well here’s the thing, let’s go back to the life of Gilberto Gil. Don’t you want to see the kitchen as it turned out?” he asked after closing the subject.
Shortly after the broadcast, several users did not forgive the cut and criticized Huck.
