Medical worker Samantha Burroughs of Tuscaloosa, Alabama thought her match with Bumble was “respectful” in early conversations, but discovered a different side of his personality after he texted her by mistake – mocking her in a bikini photo to a friend.
Messages that went to Samantha but were meant for Jake’s friend… that showed how he really felt about their date.
The 25-year-old retaliated by posting messages on her TikTok account calling her “light sex”, receiving messages of support from those who saw them.
Initially, Singleton said she was taken aback by his cute messages, after he expressed how “lucky” he was to have met her that night.
However, the 25-year-old “jaw dropped to the floor” when he followed up with apparent startled adulation, accidentally sending her a photo of himself in a bikini along with “belittling” text poking fun at her.
Jake’s message exclaimed to his friend, “Bro, she’s a solid 4,” before admitting that “desperate times call for desperate measures” and saying that “beggars can’t choose.”
He added that he was going to keep his date with Samantha “under wraps” and ended the message by boasting, “All I saw was sex and light intimacy.”
Shortly thereafter, Samantha was followed by a second message in which he attempted to cover up the mistake by stating “I didn’t mean to send this to you” and “I was talking about someone else”.
Samantha refused to answer – and stood up for a date – and is baffled by how Jake switched from being so polite to being so “childish” in messages.
After receiving messages before the date, Burroughs stood up for “Jake” and took revenge on social media – her post was liked more than 1.5 million times.
Unlucky in love, Samantha, who has been single since January 2021, claims she has been in “terrible” and “toxic” relationships since her teenage years.
She then exposed his cold-blooded mistake on TikTok, where her videos have already been viewed more than 1.5 million times and users are outraged by Jake’s post.
He has since written to her, claiming the message was a “joke”, demanding that she take down TikTok so men don’t think she’s “crazy” and adding that “he just doesn’t find fat girls attractive.”
Samantha said: “Comments about ‘desperate times’, ‘beggars can’t choose’ and ‘the easy life’ – they sucked. It humiliated me and was childish.
“He went from being a very respectful person with very good grammar to talking like he was a high school student. It’s amazing how men can completely deceive you. It seemed like they were two completely different people.

Jake: Yes, I can’t wait to meet you! You’re beautiful [heart eyes emoji]. Would a seven fit?
Samantha: “Thank you. This is cute. Yes, it should be good.
Jake: I’ll be coming straight from work, so you’ll have to check my work uniform.
Samantha: Haha, don’t worry. I’m in a robe, so I understand.
Jake: I’m sure you look great either way. I’m lucky I got you out.
At 3:59 pm, Jake sent a photo of Samantha in a bikini, which she shared on the dating app Bumble:
Jake: “No bro, she’s got a solid B and I would certainly keep her low, but desperate times call for desperate measures and beggars don’t get to choose.
“All I saw was sex and light sex.”
Jake: “Damn. Sorry, I didn’t mean to send you this… I was talking about another and accidentally clicked on her photo. Guilty.’
“When I saw that he sent the photo, I thought that he was going to say something perverted, sexualize my body and ruin everything, but then I read the text and just didn’t know what to say.
“At first I was very shocked. My jaw dropped to the floor and I laughed a little because this is so typical of my luck with men. I didn’t answer because I didn’t know what to say.
‘Number [rating] I didn’t get hurt as much because I don’t quite understand how it works and it doesn’t make any sense.”
It hurt, but I dodged the bullet. I’d rather it happen than we hang out and think it’s going to lead to something…
She said that Jake was “tall, dark and handsome” and “interested in the same things”, so she had high hopes for their relationship.
Samantha explained: “My friends told me that I should chat with someone as quickly as possible so that I could see what they were like, so I thought he was great because he was trying to do it.
“He got into texting very quickly and wanted to chat because he wasn’t on Bumble too much, and neither was I.”
“He sounded very respectful and seemed to value my time.”
Jake also seemed to want to know her identity, which impressed her, but she now realizes that he was not real and says she was relieved to know the truth.
She said: “I was in pain, but I dodged the bullet. I’d rather it happen than we hang out and think it’s going somewhere and then realize he’s using me for sex or something.”
