(XINHUA) BEIJING, MARCH 23 2,591 infections with locally transmitted Covid19 were reported yesterday in mainland China, the National Health Commission announced today.
Of these, 2,320 were built in Jilin Province, 110 in Fujian, 36 in Liaoning, 24 each in Tianjin and Shandong, 15 in Guangdong and 13 in Heilongjiang.
The remaining cases were reported in 12 other provinciallevel subdivisions, including Hebei and Jiangxi.
The imported cases detected in mainland China total 76, the agency said in its usual daily bulletin, adding that three new suspected cases have emerged in Shanghai, all from outside.
2,469 asymptomatic patients were also reported yesterday, of whom 2,346 were locally transmitted.
The total number of confirmed cases in mainland China updated on March 22, which includes both local and imported cases, stands at 137,231.
The number of confirmed Covid cases currently on therapy is 25,103, of which 50 are in serious conditions.
The death toll from the virus since the pandemic began is 4,638. (XINHUA)
