From June 29 on Rai 2 around midnight Davide Bernasconi alias Van de Sfroos will be The Mythonauta again. Now, in its second edition, the singer-songwriter and conductor will continue his wanderings through Italy in search of legends, myths, popular beliefs and stories that live on in the collective memory of the communities that preserve them and pass them on from generation to generation . Dark or light, fantastic or true, stories that reveal the spirit of the places and people who live there. In this first appointment of the second edition of the program, the singer-songwriter and conductor will explore the territory of Piacenza and Val Trebbia, a land full of legends and mysteries, a “city of the pass” as Leonardo defined it, from which the crusaders set out to the Holy Land, where Etruscan soothsayers left a mysterious object to prophesy the future while Hannibal and his elephants defeated the Romans on the Trebbia. Right on this river a saint who came from distant Ireland had to face the devil himself and a bridge bears witness to this encounter. The conductor crossing the valley reaches a hill considered sacred by the locals, where mysterious waters that never dry up have attracted mystics and psychics for millennia. On this walking tour Van De Sfroos will meet some of the tenants who still live in the more than three hundred castles of the Piacenza area, people who in these fairytale places have to live with the old tenants who have now died for centuries, but… full of life. The Mythonaut will also listen to these spirits and give them a voice, setting their stories and magic to music.
