Dancing with the Stars Cheryl Burke set out on a journey down the alley of memories on Monday morning.
Burke, 37, told her Instagram followers that she had returned to the Fairmont Grand Del Mar Hotel, which turned out to be the same place where she married her estranged husband, Matthew Lawrence, 42.
“It takes a few days alone to focus inward, to think, and to really try to feel my feelings – with my partner in crime, of course ♥ ️,” she began.

Burke was not entirely alone in his journey, as he took his French bulldog Isabella with him to visit the luxury resort of San Diego. The professional dancer looked well rested and refreshed in her selfie series.

Burke went on to talk about the Russian invasion of Ukraine and called on his followers to help if possible.
“I think it’s important to note that I’m so happy to be able to take a break and take that time for myself. As much as I personally experience, this is nothing compared to the suffering in Ukraine at the moment. If you’re not already, please visit the link in my description to see how you can help. ”
Burke told her Instagram followers that she was “taking a few days to focus on herself” after breaking up with Lawrence, 42.

Her recent trip comes five days after Burke filed for divorce from her husband, from whom she has lived for nearly three years, on February 18. The document states the date of the couple’s separation as January 7 due to “insurmountable differences”.
Although Lawrence did not speak publicly about the breakup with his wife, Burke took to Instagram a few days after she filed for divorce.

“I know I’ve always said I’m an open book with you guys, I strive to be, and as I wrote this, I realized that there’s really no easy way to announce that my marriage is over,” she wrote.

The couple married in May 2019. They first met in 2009 after Lawrence’s older brother, Joey, was a contestant in Dancing with the Stars. Years later, Burke and Matthew reunited and quickly got engaged in 2018.
