“My type was stolen from me. I’m in shock,” said the teen’s father, whose identity is protected by a publication ban.
The tragedy happened around 8:30 p.m. in this small commune of almost 4,000 inhabitants, in the heart of Lanaudière.
His son was driving his brand new 250cc motorcycle on the road to Sainte-Béatrix when he was violently hit by a car.
Ludovic Clavette, who was driving it, would have suddenly accelerated to flee from the police, who had just intercepted him for a fake number plate that read “TABARNAK”.
The force of the impact seriously injured the teenager on the motorcycle and a passenger in the vehicle involved, also 16 years old. Both died in hospital a few hours later. Clavette suffered minor injuries.

loved by everyone
“Everyone loved him,” the father repeated several times.
A passionate sports enthusiast, he excelled at skiing and scootering from a young age and played hockey from a young age.
“But he was very humble. He didn’t think he was anyone else. He didn’t show arrogance,” said his father, who had just retired from physical education.
For his part, Ludovic Clavette appeared at the Joliette courthouse on Wednesday afternoon.
He is accused of dangerous driving resulting in death and flight.
