Former National Hockey League (NHL) forward Jim Pappin has died at the age of 82, it was announced Wednesday.

The Ontarian is to date the last Toronto Maple Leafs player to score the game-winning goal in a game that gave that team the Stanley Cup.
In game six of the Finals against the Montreal Canadiens in 1967, he hit the target to help his team win 3-1, the Queen City Club winning their 13th lifetime championship.
Pappin also played with the Chicago Blackhawks before ending his NHL career in 1975-76 with the California Seals and the following year with the Cleveland Barons. In his career, he scored 573 points in 767 games, including 278 goals.
