Bears sign offensive lineman Dakota Dozier

On Wednesday, the “bears” replenished their group of attacking lines. The team announced that Ryan Poles has signed former Viking Dakota Dozier to a one-year contract.

The Jets selected Dozier in the fourth round of the 2014 draft. He made his NFL debut a year later, and Dozier played in 38 games in total, starting with seven. Dozier signed with the Vikings in 2019 and started all 16 games for them as a left back in 2020. However, he only appeared in six games last season exclusively with special teams. During his three-year stint in Minnesota, Dozier played in 38 games, starting in 20. In addition to being a left guard, Dozier also started as a right guard and Minnesota center.

Powles has hinted that there will be changes to the Bears’ offensive line this year, and so far he’s made a few moves. The Poles decided not to re-sign former second-round pick James Daniels, allowing Daniels to sign with the Steelers. In addition, he signed Lucas Patrick, who could replace Sam Mustifer as the Bears’ starting center.

In addition to the offensive line, the Poles signed defender Justin Jones, defender Al-Quadin Mohammed, wide receivers Byron Pringle and Equanimaeus St. Brown, and defenseman Hari Blasingame. Poles also re-signed DeAndre Houston-Carson and Patrick Scales and also suggested Mastifer, Jesper Horsted and Lachavius Simmons.
