Puerto Rico police confirmed this Saturday that they are in the process of processing a protection order issued against artist Ricky Martin over a complaint under Law 54, which protects victims of domestic violence.
The order was issued by Judge Raiza Cajigas Campbell of the San Juan Trial Court following an ex parte motion, police said.
The details of the ad or information about the alleged case of domestic violence have not become known.
Because this is a case under the Domestic Violence Prevention and Intervention Act, the Puerto Rico Police Department will not disclose the name of the complaining party.
The Puerto Rican singer has not commented on this information at the moment, nor has he made any relative innuendos on social networks.
Police received a copy of the protection order through the new Center for Operations and Processing of Protection Orders (COPOP) and coordinated its processing by agents assigned to Dorado Barracks.
Enrique Martín Morales, better known as Ricky Martin, has been married to artist of Syrian origin Jwan Yosef since 2017 and they have four children.
The 50-year-old singer is the author of major musical successes such as “La copa de la vida”, “La mordidita”, “Livin’ la Vida Loca” and “María”.
In a separate case, the artist is facing a more than $3 million lawsuit from his former manager, Rebecca Druker, in Los Angeles Central District Court.
