The first results of the investigations carried out should shed some light on the matter drone crashed in the evening of last Thursday, March 10, in the Jarun district of Zagreb (Croatia): the plane would have been used to carry weapons.
What happened
Fortunately, the vehicle’s impact did not cause any injuries, although a crater about 3 meters in diameter formed and at least forty cars parked near the ground impact were apparently damaged. An impact that was not followed by fire, immediately leading to suspicion that the drone had crashed because it had run out of fuel. The first reconnaissance documented that it had to be the Tu141 model, but it was delivered from Soviet productionUkrainian army. And from Ukraine it was suspected that the same medium is coming.
The Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, alarmed by the episode, spoke of the need to invest funds in the country’s air defense system. “I have already pointed out the shortcomings of our air defense system and now is the right time to start developing it, and quickly, even though it is unlikely to happen again,” he said. “We have seen all the shortcomings that exist and the fact that we can count on NATO, but that is the decision we are making.”

According to President Milanovic’s reports at the end of the extraordinary NATO summit in Brussels, some NATO “big shots” were unaware of the incident. “You could see that in her facial expression,” said Milanovic, “it’s not ‘Dancing with the Stars’, what happened is a little different.” The Croatian President said he also spoke to Orban as the drone is believed to have crossed Hungary’s airspace. “Let’s hope it doesn’t happen again. But it’s not a NATO issue, the first country should have responded, and that’s Hungary. I think it won’t happen next time,” he concluded.
