The Iphone XR brings the best of iOS and all-day battery life to the affordable smartphone market. It’s no wonder the handheld has established itself as Apple’s best performer in 2019. If you’re one of the many to snag an iPhone XR, there are a number of helpful features that you might not take advantage of. Screenshots can be created in different ways. The procedure has also improved if you are coming from an Iphone 8 or older. We split it action by motion so you can capture your following screenshot using body buttons and AssistiveTouch.
Using screenshots with physical keys
Phase 1: Find the Matching Buttons — Long gone are the days of physical housekeeping buttons, so you’re more likely to be looking for the “Lock” and “Increase Quantity” buttons to take a screenshot. The volume up button is located on the top left of the phone below the mute switch. The lock button is on the matching side. Inserting your fingers into the two buttons should feel really natural, as if you were holding the iPhone normally.
Step 2: Grab the Screenshot — When you are on the favorite web page, press the two buttons at the same time to take a screenshot. You’ll see a blinking animation that’s taken over by a thumbnail in the lower-left corner when it’s successfully completed. For those who have the silent type turned off, you’ll also hear a trigger appear.

Stage 3: Edit Screenshot — The thumbnail below can be overlooked if you want to keep your screenshot as is. You can swipe it away or enable it to immediately close itself after a few seconds. But if you want to doodle, add notes, or crop the impression, tap the thumbnail to reveal the editor tool. Here you will find a range of brushes and devices to help you fluff up your screenshot. By default, the editor resource shows what was captured on your screen. Go to the Total Website page to edit web pages or longer photos.
Step 4: Keep and share screenshots — When you are satisfied with the screenshot, tap “Taken” to save it. To share the image, tap the share button in the top right corner of the editing device. If you have never opened the editor device, the screenshot will be saved regularly by itself and can be shared via your capture application.
Fewer accidental screenshots — Taking screenshots with hardware buttons poses a particular problem: accidental presses when the iPhone is not in use. Since iOS 12, Apple has introduced a deal that significantly prevents accidental screenshots for this issue. When the Apple iPhone exhibition is turned off, taking screenshots is automatically disabled.
Get screenshots with AssistiveTouch
Action 1: Turn on AssistiveTouch — AssistiveTouch was the top choice for simplicity and accessibility on iOS. It’s a floating button that hangs near your screen while you’re browsing through your regular apps and games. Tap that and you’ll get shortcuts like opening Siri, pulling down your notification panel, and taking screenshots. By default, this aspect is disabled. To turn it on, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch and toggle AssistiveTouch on. Note that if you want to use the button to take screenshots, you must first add the shortcut to the menu.
Step 2: Integrating the Screenshot purpose into AssistiveTouch — The arrangement of features in the Major Degree Menu – which opens when you tap the AssistiveTouch button – is easily customizable. To do this, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch and tap Adjust Prime amount menu. There you can tap on an existing symbol to convert it or increase it by tapping on the extra symbol in the bottom right corner. Between the list of features that you can integrate are screenshots. You can also set custom actions when you interact with the AssistiveTouch button, e.g. B. single tap, double tap or long press. A neat trick is to assign a specific step to the screenshot, especially if you want to use AssistiveTouch to do just that.
Stage 3: Take Screenshot — To take a screenshot, go to your favorite webpage, bring up your top-level menu by tapping the AssistiveTouch button, or use the assigned personalized gesture for the screenshot. As with the faceted key technique, your display must flash briefly and the captured image appears as a thumbnail in the bottom corner.
Action 4: View, edit and share screenshots – Viewing and enhancing screenshots remains the same as the AssistiveTouch process. You can tap on the thumbnail to bring up the editor tool and tweak the graphic from there. To share, tap the icon in the top appropriate corner. Once you’ve closed the thumbnail—perhaps by swiping it away or making it disappear—the screenshot will quickly appear in your photo gallery by itself.
