The Denver Broncos have signed offensive lineman Billy Turner to a one-year contract.

According to 9New’s Denver’s Mike Clees, the Denver Broncos have signed veteran offensive line Billy Turner to a one-year contract. Deal up to $5 million according to NFL Network’s Tom Peliserro..

The former Bronco player from 2016 to 2018 joined Nathaniel Hackett at Green Bay from 2019 to last season and was a versatile player in their offensive line. He played defense and tackle on the Packers offense, but really excelled at proper tackle. This is where he will play and possibly start Nathaniel Hackett’s offense in Denver next season. Hell compete with newly signed Tom Compton and Calvin Anderson for the right challenges.

According to Klis, the Broncos ended up choosing between former Seahawks right tackle Brandon Schell, who recently visited Denver, and Turner. Obviously, the Broncos have decided to get to know Turner, who I think is the best option anyway.

The Broncos offensive line now has more depth and versatility. Billy Turner and Tom Compton have experience playing defense and tackle, Calvin Anderson can play both tackles, Graham Glasgow can play defense or center. It’s a good situation where injuries always happen on the offensive line.

I do think it reduces the chances of a tackle selection with one of the Broncos’ second day picks. If they love someone, then of course they will lash out, but this is not an urgent need. However, in the long run, Turner, Anderson and Compton have all signed one-year deals, so they still don’t have a long-term answer for the position at this time.
