Designer Tommy Hilfiger and his model-turned-financier wife Dee Ocleppo made a whopping $19 million profit by selling their Aspen mansion for $50 million just three months after they bought it as a “legacy property” for their family .
The 7,150-square-foot property has seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and plenty of rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows for breathtaking Aspen sunsets and sunrises.
Other amenities include an elevator that takes you from floor to floor of the sprawling property, a spa with hot tub and steam shower, and a beautiful patio and terrace.
Hilfiger, 71, and Okleppo, 55, were not originally going to sell the hillside property located on Aspen’s Little Nell ski run. They just bought it in December for $30.9 million, according to The Wall Street Journal.
But the buyer’s irresistible $50 million offer convinced them to say goodbye to what they once considered home forever.
“I think everything has a price, and with limited stock, you have to get creative,” Steven Shane of real estate brokerage Compass, who represented both Hilfigers and the buyer, told the Aspen Times.

“The thing is, Tommy and Dee were not going to buy and sell real estate,” Shane said. “This was to be the legacy of their children, their children’s children for years to come.”
“So I asked Tommy and Dee if they would consider selling it, and they said it should be a very attractive price.”
The city had 59.6% fewer single-family homes for sale in February than in the same period last year, according to the Aspen Times.
“I spoke to the buyer’s team and said we could get this from the existing homeowner, but it would cost them a significant amount to consider it. And after a couple of conversations back and forth, we agreed on a price,” Shane added.
