Heidi Montag claims Lady Gaga sabotaged her music career prior to the release of her debut album, Superficial, in 2010.
“People say ‘I love Lady Gaga’ and I’m sure she’s amazing, but I haven’t had the best encounter with her,” the 35-year-old Hills graduate said in The Unpopular with Jacques Peterson. . Podcast Monday.
In the episode, Montag said her relationship with the 35-year-old Grammy winner soured when Gaga was just an aspiring singer-songwriter and the two had both worked with mega-producer RedOne.
Montag said RedOne, whose real name is Nadir Khayat, had high hopes for her career and even told Us Weekly of the reality star in 2009: “She has star qualities – a strong personality without boundaries. She can do anything and make it sound believable. She is a born star.”
But because RedOne, now 49, and Gaga were writing partners, he had to get her permission for Montag to release a track called “Fashion” — since Gaga wrote it.
Montag said the “House of Gucci” star replied, “Great sure she can have that song.”

The former MTV star said she featured the song in a segment she did for The View.
However, Montag claimed that after the producers of the 2009 film “Confessions of a Shopaholic” expressed interest in using “Fashion” for their soundtrack, Gaga took the song back and included it on that album herself.
“‘No, I pull this song and I record it. It’s not Heidis anymore,” the TV personality claimed, the “Bad Romance” singer said.
Montag speculated that Gaga might have been a “fan” of The Hills and her former friend Lauren Conrad, because when Gaga once appeared on the show, Montag said the “Shallow” singer told her, “I just filmed with Lauren and Whitney [Port] on “The Hills.”‘”
“I thought, ‘Who is this girl? What’s happening?’ She’s definitely a hater!” said the mother of one.
Montag then claimed Gaga told RedOne she would stop working with him if he continued working with Montag, prompting the producer to part ways with the reality star.
“He said, ‘I’m sorry, she’s my writing partner for big things,'” added the Marriage Bootcamp alum.
RedOne and Gaga produced several hits over the years including “Just Dance”, “Bad Romance”, “Alejandro”, “Judas” and more.
A rep for Gaga did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
