The week ends on a gray note with the arrival of a system from the west that is expected to bring active weather. Storm cell formation is likely to occur in certain sectors of Quebec in the afternoon and evening.
Medium risk at the border
A large part of Quebec, from Estrie to the north coast, through Montérégie, the National Capital region and Bas-Saint-Laurent, could be affected. However, the New Brunswick border is the area most likely to be affected, with a moderate risk of heavy rain, good gusts and small hail.
Unpredictable cold front
The outcome of this scenario will depend on the passage time of a cold front that will sweep through the Saint Lawrence Valley. If it hits earlier in the day, storm cells are likely to be mostly concentrated in New Brunswick and the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula. However, if the cold front emerges later in the afternoon, Quebec could become the scene of local thunderstorms.
