Chris Hemsworth reveals his little brother Liam almost got cast as Thor – and now he wants him to play an alternate version of the superhero
Chris Hemsworth has admitted he almost lost his career-defining role as Marvel superhero Thor to his own brother, Liam Hemsworth.
And he would love to see his younger brother appear as an alternate version of the character in a future film.
“My little brother almost got cast as Thor,” the 38-year-old told website Mensxp this week.

“He was one of the first people who went straight to work trying to get the part so I could cross paths with him. That’s gonna be fun.’
Chris has previously revealed he screwed up his original audition for Thor before Liam, 32, came in to audition for the same role and gotten much further in the process.
This motivated Chris to ask his manager to call him back for another try, so the role ultimately went to him and not Liam.

“I’m a little motivated and maybe frustrated that my little brother got ahead of me,” he told W Magazine.
“It’s a small family, sibling rivalry that got to me. From there it went on pretty quickly. It was cool.’
Thor is already a family affair, with Chris’ older brother Luke Hemsworth, 41, winning a role in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok.

Luke played an actor who portrayed Thor on stage.
The game-in-the-movie storyline is retold in Thor: Love and Thunder, available now.
Luke reprises his role as the actor taking on the role of his brother, dressed in full Thor regalia, including a wig and fake beard.
