While we were still celebrating the feat of a national team reaching the quarter-finals of the 2022 Copa Sudamericana in Arequipa and throughout Peru, Melgar announced his new coach. Néstor Lorenzo left the management of the red-black team to lead the Colombian team, leaving the Argentine in his place Pablo Lavallen.
The all-new DT was present at the UNSA Monumental Stadium to witness the 2-1 win over Deportivo Cali. He is satisfied with the performance and praises the work of his predecessor.
