Faustão’s Crisis in the Band: Dancers Fired Before Debuting on TV

The new wave of redundancies in the Faustão na Band program with between 40 and 50 redundancies in the last week has triggered a crisis that has been gradually developing in recent months.

This column of syringes has already reported several dismissals of dancers since Fausto Silva debuted on the channel in January. In this new wave of layoffs, four dancers who didn’t even debut on television were fired. They rehearsed and prepared for their first appearance on the show, but with the staff cut, they were warned they would not get the longawaited opportunity.

A person close to one of the newcomers told this columnist that the closure came as a big surprise. “She even showed on social media that she is rehearsing and one day she sent me a photo saying it was a dream but she wasn’t going to follow it. News of the layoff came soon after,” he said.

Wanted the band did not want to comment on the dismissal of the dancers.

The channel takes the same position as at other times when it was wanted to remove dancers from Faustão’s program.

The wave of layoffs has been going on since March. In May, this column reported that the dancers were quite discouraged and worried about the future. In addition, they had to rehearse at alternative times due to the high volume of recordings and complained of exhaustion.

By early June, 12 dancers had already been released, but nine joined the team. The idea behind the production and direction of “Faustão na Band” was to put an end to supposed comparisons between the dancers in the Globo. Dancers who went to the new station with Fausto Silva were unhappy with the changes. The “renovation” took place behind the scenes to “end addiction and create a new climate,” according to sources in the column.

the columnist of syringes Guilherme Ravache released a report saying Faustão tried to defend his team. According to Ravache’s text, people close to the presenter explained that for the first few months, expecting publicity to increase, he accepted cutting his salary to ensure the structure he felt was ideal. The numbers didn’t improve and the cuts started happening.

Following the layoffs at Band, F5 reported that from 2023 the program Faustão will no longer be broadcast from Monday to Friday and its frequency will be reduced.
