In conversation with omeletthe showrunner Eric Kripke talked about Soldier Boy’s open ending being frozen again at the end. asked if Jensen Ackles Kripke has committed to participating in more seasons and said the character will surely return in the future:
“There’s a very specific reason we left the door open for this character. For now, that pawn is on the sidelines, but the series certainly won’t end without Soldier Boy’s return.”

Season 3 of The Boys ended with the eighth episode which was released on July 7th and is available on Prime video. It is also worth remembering that the platform has already officially renewed the series for its 4th season.
