Hayden Panettiere is “fine” after she and boyfriend Brian Hickerson got into a fight with guests at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in Los Angeles.
The “Heroes” graduate’s rep told People the duo’s version of events Thursday night, in which Hickerson got into a fight after criticizing an unknown person for giving a bad tip.
“While he was at the Sunset Marquis’s restaurant, Brian Hickerson, who happened to be dating Hayden, made a comment to one person about tipping the waitress badly,” the rep said in an attempt at Panettiere’s relationship with Hickerson downplay statement.
“The same person, along with the group he was with, began harassing and pushing Brian, after which security forces pushed everyone outside,” the statement continued. “Brian was attacked by the group, as was Hayden, who tried their best to defuse the situation.”
The rep claimed the former “Nashville” star was “denied the opportunity” to testify to police because she was “escorted back to the hotel.”
“She’s fine,” the statement concluded.
The rep didn’t talk about how Hickerson was doing.
“Hayden was denied an opportunity to testify to police as she was being escorted back inside,” her rep claimed, per TMZ
Video obtained by TMZ showed Panettiere, 32, and Hickerson fighting people outside the hotel after the group was kicked out. At one point, the actress was reportedly overheard: “Brian, jail,” apparently to remind him he’s on probation after being arrested multiple times for domestic violence against her.
Hickerson served a jail sentence last year after failing to plead a contest to two counts of injuring a spouse or girlfriend — Panettiere. The judge also sentenced him to four years probation and ordered him to take 52 domestic violence courses and pay a $500 fee.
It’s unclear how Hickerson is doing after the brawl, per TMZ
He was also given a five-year restraining order to prevent him from approaching Panettiere, but neither respected it.
Hickerson told E! News that he and the I Love You, Beth Cooper star are “working” on their friendship.
“We have a long history together, and the first step in my recovery as an abuser is redemption,” he explained in July 2021. “That’s exactly what Hayden was so gracious about allowing me to do.”
