Geneviève Jodoin is expanding her Hostel La Fascine in L’Isle-aux-Coudres.

“We bought the barn next to our establishment and are in the process of building a beautiful performance hall in it. It will be independent from the restaurant. We remodeled the barn to look like it originally was, with cedar clapboards. At the moment we are collecting donations to secure everything financially, because after two years of the pandemic it is a very big project. We also wanted to involve the people of La Fascine.” An old, non-working piano has been dismantled and people can buy one of the 88 sheet music, which will be engraved with the donor’s name. These keys are used to create an original work. “We also get a work by Marc Séguin to be installed in the barn. We want it to be a cultural place for the residents of L’Isle-aux-Coudres.
Musically, Geneviève doesn’t really have time to create at the moment. “I’m going to do a few shows in my barn, but it’s impossible for me to work on it over the summer. Also, I’m out of record deal so I’ll have to reboot the machine in the next few months.
