Sam Esmail ‘s adaptation of Fritz Lang’ s 1927 classic film Metropolis finally comes to the small screen.
The streamer has awarded a series of project orders, which comes out of Mr. Robot the huge overall deal of the creator in UCP.
It will be written and directed entirely by Esmail, who is also behind Starz’s upcoming political drama series. Gazlit.

Metropolis Directed by Lang and written by Thea von Harbu based on the latter’s 1925 novel. dividing the classes in their city, and to gather the workers together with Joe Fredersen, the master of the city.
The silent film is considered one of the first feature films in the science fiction genre and, although criticized for its initial release, was praised by people like Martin Scorsese and named the 35th greatest film of all time by the British Film Institute.
The series has a long way to go; It first turned out that Esmail was developing it – then with UCP and Anonymous Content – back in 2016, and last year the screenwriter-director said he was working on a pilot script.
