A 91-year-old Montrealer died Saturday after a fall that paramedics classified as only Priority 4.
Thérèse Pardiac fell yesterday while her son and daughter-in-law were out to dinner.
His fall prevented him from raising his leg, and the woman began to vomit. The couple decided to call for help. “Don’t move them anymore, an ambulance is coming but it will take a few hours,” they were told.

After more than 7 hours of waiting, the woman died shortly before paramedics arrived.
“I spent the last few moments telling her, ‘It’s going to be fine!’ and rubbing her, checking her feet, checking the color of her legs, just like they told me to,” explained his daughter Jezebel Bourg. in law.
Ms Bourg called 911 every hour for 7 hours, as seen in this screenshot of her cellphone.
And as if that wasn’t enough, we wanted to keep the body outside for another 7 hours because the coroner opened an inquest.
“But there it starts to be 6am, 7am. And I, I’ve got the sun coming up on my balcony. Don’t come and tease me with your investigators, my mother is dead!” His son Marc Bourg was outraged.
Asked by TVA Nouvelles, Urgence-Santé’s Stéphane Smith said she died from leg pain and offered his condolences to the victim’s family.
Urgences-Santé makes no secret of the fact that there is a shortage of staff on weekend evenings in Montreal.
