Phishing scams are rounding on Facebook Messenger, using four words to trick people into sharing details.

The scam spreads from compromised accounts of friends and family, with a harmless message “Look at what I found.” Not a cute photo of a raccoon wearing a party hat, but a link.

After clicking the link, the user will be prompted to log in to Facebook again. This isn’t the actual Facebook, it’s another website designed to steal data, install malware on your device, or hijack your account.

This is just one of many such scams that have surged recently, and people are often unaware that they have been victims. In addition to a series of scams that try to get people to invest in Instagram’s cryptocurrencies, there are scams on both Facebook and Instagram that ask the author to send a message if they need financial help.

Finding a scam is not always obvious. Be careful if the message is unusual or unexpected, or if the grammar doesn’t make sense. Ask what the link is, make sure it’s a legitimate profile to send you a message, and if you think the actual profile is at risk, contact that person in other ways. please.
