But William’s eldest daughter Sabrina, 57, believes it doesn’t tell the true story as she was one of five children he left in his first marriage when Sabrina was just eight years old.
Sabrina has only met her 80-year-old father a few times since and is now cut off from him and her athletic half-siblings.
The first marriage is completely ignored in director Reinaldo Marcus Green’s biopic.
The film also glossed over Williams’ alleged leaks and the time he was suspected of breaking Serena’s mother Oracene’s ribs in a reported bankruptcy in 1999, but she declined to press charges in a bid to salvage her daughters’ careers.
The prize wins are doubly painful for Sabrina, who lost her son Alphonse after he tragically took his own life last month.
She says Williams didn’t bother to come forward about his grandson – and criticizes the film’s likable portrayal of her father.

While Sabrina thinks the Men In Black star should do more research on her father.
“It just confirms the fact that some movie stars, some people, are after themselves. Not every movie star, but Will Smith should have done more background work,” says Sabrina from her Las Vegas home.
“Maybe people are just out of Covid and need a feel good film after everything that’s happened in the last two years.
“But it’s not authentic. They avoid the truth – the filmmakers, Richard, Serena, Venus. It’s their version of the truth. There is a saying that there is your side, my side and in between there is the truth.”
“But it was 98 percent more told on their side and 2 percent more on my side. After all, nobody wants to hear anything bad about the Williams family.
“It will be me who sounds like the crazy one, but I have to tell the truth.
“I always knew where I stood with my father, now at least now I know where I stand a thousand percent. I know there’s nothing that’s going to get my dad or anyone from this side of the family to come forward and they’ I drew their line in the sand and that’s okay, I won’t cross it.
