Ivana Trump, 73, was found dead Thursday at the bottom of the steps in her New York townhouse after suffering what is believed to be cardiac arrest. She was Donald Trump’s first wife and the mother of his first three children – Ivanka, Donald Jr. and Eric.

Ivana and Trump divorced in 1992 after she discovered he was having an affair with the woman who would later become his second wife, Marla Maples. A former model, Ivana later became an independent businesswoman as well as a media personality, fashion designer and author.

Trump and his children are being removed despite the former president calling James’ investigation a “witch hunt” and attacking the Democratic official herself as a “racist.”

James’ team claims to have uncovered “substantial evidence” that the Trump Organization knowingly used misleading financial reports in its business dealings for at least a decade.

The company has been accused of inflating the value of its properties to look cheap for banks and getting better credit, then undercutting their estimates to save taxpayers’ money.

So far, the former president’s legal efforts to stop the investigation into James have come to nothing.

Trump was found in contempt of court on April 25 for failing to produce a number of documents to comply with a subpoena from James. Judge Arthur Engeron ordered Trump’s team to pay $10,000 a day through May 6, when Trump’s attorneys filed 66 pages of court documents detailing efforts by him and his attorneys to locate the subpoenaed documents.

Trump paid the $110,000 fine but appealed.

A federal judge last month dismissed a lawsuit Trump filed against James, dismissing his claim that she targeted him out of political animus and allowing her civil investigation into his business practices to proceed.

At a court hearing on the matter, an attorney for James’ office said evidence found in the investigation could support legal action against the former president, his firm, or both.

Attorney Andrew Amer said at a hearing in Trump’s lawsuit against James that “clearly a substantial body of evidence has been amassed that may support the filing of an enforcement proceeding,” although a final decision on filing such a lawsuit has not yet been made.
