According to the newspaper, the system would cost two billion euros, according to information from the security media. Once it is available on the market, it could be operational as early as 2025.
For the anti-missile shield, “Super Greene Pine” missile radar systems would be installed at three locations in Germany, which would send their data to the national command post in Uedem. There, Air Force soldiers would assess the situation. In an emergency, one of the launchers distributed throughout Germany would launch an “Arrow 3” rocket, which would intercept and destroy the attacking rocket.
According to the report, the radar devices are so powerful that the protective shield can also cover Poland, Romania or the Baltic States. Neighboring countries would then have to buy Arrow 3 missiles, and Germany would provide the radar image. Schwarz told the paper: “We can also extend the Iron Summit over our neighboring countries. We would then play a key role in the security of Europe.”
