Kate Middleton once again showed off her frugal side this week by wearing a pair of boots she first wore in 2011.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 40, wore an all-green outfit as she visited the Abergavenny Market with Prince William to celebrate St David’s Day yesterday.
And in a touching nod to her decade-plus duty in the royal family, Kate completed her outfit with her Aquatalia Rouge boots, which she wore for her first official engagement in 2011.
Then William’s fiancee Kate wore the £245 boots as she visited Trearddur Bay in Anglesey, where the future royal couple named a new lifeboat.
She put them back on the following year, on one of her first solo outings as royalty, when she visited two schools in Oxford.

Fresh face! Kate first wore the boots during a trip to Anglesey in 2011 – a few months before their wedding
The mother-of-three kept her tresses loose and wavy as she wore an exquisite pair of gold hoop earrings costing £60 from Spells of Love.
The Duchess isn’t the only famous Spell of Love fan, with Kendall Jenner wearing the same “Alia” earrings at a basketball game last year.
Yesterday the couple visited Blaenavon Hwb, a community-focused youth centre, Kate, who is an avid baker, took a look at William’s attempts to make Welsh pastries and they also played a game of billiards.
She went to the oven and effortlessly started helping with cooking and turning the cakes on to the stove while talking to 16-year-old Lyby.
After William started rolling the dough and cutting it out, he told the group gathered around him: “I’m under a lot of pressure here.

Prince William and Kate looked particularly fascinated by a young royal fan as they greeted the crowds at the market this afternoon
‘Don’t judge my cooking, it can go horribly wrong. Where is Mary (Berry) when you need her?
When the Duchess asked to see her husband’s efforts, she pointed to the subtlety of his cakes.
‘This guy’s a bit skinny,’ William admitted, before looking at them again and adding: ‘They’re probably all a bit skinny.’
The royal couple are visiting Wales to learn about the importance of the farming industry to the rural population and how community organisations provide support to young people while celebrating the region’s history.

During the visit, the couple also revealed how they are engaging their children with farming, revealing the couple on a day out in Wales to mark St David’s Day.
The future Prince and Princess of Wales visited a goat farm in Llanvetherine, near Abergavenny, and shared how Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have helped their animals through their half-year.
The family is believed to be in Norfolk, where the Prince of Wales is working to turn the Queen’s Sandringham estate into a fully organic operation.
During a day spent in the Welsh valleys, the couple tried to make traditional Welsh pastries in a community center, but the future king told young people watching: “Don’t judge my cooking…”
As they toured Pant Farm, where Gary and Jess Yeomans, both 50, have been producing goat’s milk, which has been supplying a local cheese maker for the past two decades, William spotted a silage-sillating robot in one of the barns.
Gary explained that it could also be used to move fodder, and the Duchess replied: ‘That was George’s job at half-time – moving fodder.’
William told his hosts that the children had taken part in the farm, adding: ‘We are also trying agro forestry.’
The method involves planting crops between rows of trees to provide healthier soil, higher yields and vital wildlife homes.

The Duke studied agricultural management at the University of Cambridge in 2014, but it seems the Duchess also has farming in her veins.
Kate told her hosts: ‘I was looking at my lineage and there was someone who was raising goats of a rare breed. I’m going to have to find out who she was. It was right after The First World War.
William also commented on the pair’s new sporting rivalry following Wales’ narrow defeat by England in the Six Nations on Saturday, where Kate, as patron of England rugby, triumphed over her husband, patron of the Welsh Rugby Union.
“Today, however, he wears a Welsh scarf,” the Duke said. “It’s a good family rivalry.”
Gary told him: “George will have to come to your side.”
“Don’t worry,” William replied. —He’s already there.
Turn it around! Kate shared a laugh with team members at the youth centre as she grabbed the cutlery to help make pancakes for the group
