Miguel Camacho, a young Cuban baseball player, arrived in the United States after crossing several borders, beginning the journey in Nicaragua with his father, who unfortunately died in a traffic accident in that country.

His arrival in the United States this Thursday was confirmed by reporter Francis Romero, adding that the young Cuban player, surnamed Camacho, is 22 years old and has started training to land a professional baseball contract.

In his sporting history on the island, according to the reporter in his publication, he has “participated in 4 National Series with the Hurricanes of Mayabeque” with his father Rolando Camacho Díaz (Roly) being the pitching coach.

In early February, father and son left Cuba to begin their journey through Nicaragua before crossing several borders and arriving in the United States, their main destination. But fate played a trick on them, they suffered a traffic accident when an apparently speeding truck entered the lane they were driving in and lost their father’s life.

Upon his arrival in the United States, young baseball player Miguel Camacho posted an emotional message to his father on his social media:

“You created a warrior. who never give up I love you and miss you more but I will keep what I promised you… thanks for everything dad »

In the first five months of the current fiscal year, 47,431 Cubans entered US territory by land and more than a thousand were intercepted by sea, according to the Department of Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
