Kevin Hunter is suing the Wendy Williams Show production company.

Kevin Hunter is back on the Hot Topic.

Wendy Williams’ ex-husband is suing the production company on its eponymous daily talk show for wrongful termination, according to documents obtained from Six.

A civil lawsuit filed in federal court in New York on Monday alleges that Debmar-Mercury wrongfully fired Hunter “based on his marital status” to Williams.

“Hunter was one of the reasons for the huge success of Wendy William’s show, and it seemed like it all went south after he left,” Hunter’s lawyer, Abe George, told Page Six in a statement Wednesday morning.

“Mr. Hunter was illegally terminated only because of his marital status with Wendy, which is against the human rights laws of New York.”

The 49-year-old Hunter was fired from his role as executive producer of The Wendy Williams Show in April 2019, just a week after the now-isolated talk show host filed for divorce from his then-girlfriend Sharina Hudson who became pregnant.

“This lawsuit seeks to compensate Mr. Hunter for the sweaty capital he has invested in the show and that Debmar-Mercury will continue to win even in their rebirth of the Wendy Williams show,” George added. the cancellation of the show and the constant takeover of Sherri Shepherd.

According to court documents, Hunter, who now lives in Florida with his fiancée Hudson, is seeking a cash reward of at least $ 7 million, as well as criminal damages, missed salaries and court fees.

Hunter was named executive producer of the Wendy Williams Show in 2007. The lawsuit alleges that he was involved in the show’s branding and helped develop the show’s favorite segments: Hot Topics, Camera for shoes “and” Hot seat “.

Meanwhile, the 57-year-old Williams is embroiled in her own court battle with Wales Fargo, which has frozen her assets out of concern for her well-being.
