If the situation remains breathable in the north for your next weekend, a new, very hot gust of wind with often scorching values in the south is expected nationwide on Sunday.
An anticyclone will inflate again from the west on Saturday and position itself over central Europe on Sunday. The flow will switch back to the south-southeast sector, favoring the rise in temperature.
Return of the sun for all but rising temperatures on Sunday
SaturdayAfter the few thunderstorms the day before on the northern half, there will be a lot of low cloud in the morning and some residual showers on the east side before everything is evacuated in the direction of Germany and Switzerland. In the afternoon, the clearings of the western facade will gradually reach the eastern regions, but clouds will continue to occupy the reliefs from the Vosges to the Southern Alps with the risk of thunderstorms.
Sunday, full sun returns to the whole country despite possible isolated thunderstorms in the border Alps. The hot weather will once again spread across the country. The heat wave will continue in the Southeast with even more intense heat.
Very hot in the south, more moderate in the north on Saturday
The return of the great heat is confirmed for this weekend. On Saturday the very high temperatures in the lower Rhône valley and in the Mediterranean hinterland will continue with 35 to 38°C in general. Elsewhere, south of the Loire, temperatures are approaching 31-33°C on average. North of the Loire, the air is supposed to remain a little more breathable. On the other hand, the very hot weather will spread to the north of the country on Sunday. Only the edges of the English Channel should escape the great heat. We therefore expect values between 25 on the edge of the English Channel and more than 40°C in the southwest and in Provence in the afternoon.
