Power games: Erdogan keeps Putin waiting

A lot has changed since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The world and its field of political power have been changing successively since February 24th.

The tripartite summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi provided further evidence of this.

It was there that Putin tasted his own medicine. Erdogan kept his colleague Putin waiting for more than 50 seconds before shaking his hand. As expected, Putin did not like the small show of power, as a viral video on the internet shows.

Compared to the time Putin allowed to elapse in the past to receive his political guests, Erdogan’s “delay” was slight.

Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel had to wait four hours for Putin, while the pope had to wait just 60 minutes. Queen Elizabeth saw the Kremlin boss even faster: she only had to be patient for 14 minutes.
