EDEN CONFIDENTIAL Is Formula 1 legend David Coulthards new girl

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Is Formula 1 legend David Coulthard’s new girl a ‘wife’ in the fast lane?

A Formula 1 driver for 15 seasons, his career was built on speed. And it seems David Coulthard has applied the same talent to his love life.

The retired Scottish racing star, 51, has sparked engagement rumors after his girlfriend Sigrid Silversand was spotted with a giant sparkler on his ring finger just months after this newspaper revealed he had split from wife Karen Minier.

Swedish model Silversand, in her mid-20s, wore the skirt as the couple went shopping in London. The pair were first pictured together in January as they walked hand in hand and shared several kisses in the capital.

In the same month, Amanda Holden also shared a picture of herself and husband Chris Hughes with the couple enjoying a drink in celebration of their older daughter’s birthday.

“Celebrating Lexi’s 16th birthday with her godfather David Coulthard and his girlfriend Sigrid and my lub,” she wrote on Instagram. Coulthard was best man at Hughes’ wedding to the Britain’s Got Talent judge.

The former athlete-turned-commentator has not been pictured with his wedding ring since January last year.

He married Belgian TV presenter Minier, 49, in Monaco in 2013. They met in 2005 when she was covering the Grand Prix for French TV channel TF1 and in 2008 they had a son, Dayton.

At the time, Coulthard described the birth as “the start of a fantastic time” in his life and said “winning 13 races seems utterly insignificant in comparison”.

He also once hailed his wife as an “amazing kisser,” and joked, “I did some research to confirm she’s the best.”

Silversand doesn’t often post online about her personal life, but she has spoken openly about being single before.

In 2017, she shared a snap of her model’s wedding dresses and wrote, “Just because you’re single [as f***] doesn’t mean you can’t have a ton of fake weddings.

Coulthard was previously engaged to American model Heidi Wichlinski and was in a relationship with Brazilian model Simone Abdelnour.

A spokesman for Coulthard wanted to downplay talk of an engagement.

Once fashion’s enfant terrible, Jean Paul Gaultier is now 70 but confident he’ll get better with age – like a worn pair of jeans. “As denim gets older, it gets even better,” he tells me at the press night of his Jean Paul Gaultier Fashion Freak Show at the Roundhouse in Camden, North London. The French designer adds: “It has to be the same with us. The more wear and tear and the older we get, the better it is.”

Ed Sheeran’s worst nightmare: I see fire

Ed Sheeran, who had a hit with a song called I See Fire, is desperate to avoid a fire at his sprawling £3.7million Suffolk estate.

I understand the pop superstar has received permission to install a hi-tech lightning rod to protect the new chapel being built at his home near Framlingham.

East Suffolk Council planners gave the go-ahead for the mast after no objections from neighbors. The staff, which extends 7 feet above the chapel’s spire, will attract all lightning in the immediate area and safely dissipate the 300 million volt electrical charge.

His new boat-shaped chapel will also feature a spiral staircase and even a funerary crypt where he can “retreat for contemplation, prayer and relaxation.”

It will be built on the eastern side of the estate – called Sheeranville – because “the sunrise is relevant in both the Abrahamic and Oriental traditions”.

Binky’s wedding woes as a mother can’t be there

Binky Felstead is joined by Made In Chelsea star Rosie Fortescue as she prepares for her second wedding to businessman Max Darnton in Corfu.

But the celebrations will be tinged with sadness as I hear the celebrity’s mother Jane will not be able to attend after contracting shingles. Jane, who has multiple sclerosis, reveals: “I’m not well enough to walk. Despite all the ups and downs that life throws at us, this is one of the worst things I’ve had to deal with.

It’s the final blow for Binky, 32, whose one-year-old son Wolfie was recently hospitalized after a severe allergic reaction to hummus.

She and Darnton, 32, tied the knot at Chelsea Old Town Hall last year.

The Queen still enjoys a glass of wine with her dinner, and this week she honored her head sommelier. I understand she presented Robert Large with the insignia of honorary member of the Royal Victorian Order at Windsor Castle on Sunday. He was yeoman of the Royal Cellars as well as their top wine waiter.

Last autumn, another royal sommelier, Demetri Walters, denied reports that the monarch had sworn off alcohol altogether. “I chose Queen, but she’s quite demanding as she doesn’t drink much wine at the moment,” he told me. “It’s bad for your joints.”

Explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes has revealed that Prince Charles, the patron of his expeditions, has angered him over the dangerous risks he is taking. “I remember him saying, ‘I suppose you’re so concerned about beating the Norwegians to the next world record that you might be speeding and taking risks.’ I called him and said, ‘Yours Royal Highness, I understand from the news that you almost fell off your horse playing polo and we also suggest our patron not to take too many risks.’

I’m totally in love, says Simon from the TV

Since marrying former BBC news anchor Simon McCoy last autumn, 1980s pin-up Emma Samms has discovered that she is not the only object of his affections.

McCoy, 60, who is best known for his witty jokes when covering the life of the royal family, is also in love with the lawnmower he drives in the garden of their Cotswolds home – so much so that he gave him a pet name.

Samms, 61, says: “It doesn’t just have one name. . . but when it had to be taken in for repairs I noticed that Simon had written ‘Tarquin to the hospital’ in our shared journal.’
