President of Costa Rica begins official visit to Spain

In his first assignment in the Iberian country, Alvarado will attend the Americas Forum – organized by Europa Press – where he will speak on environmental sustainability and the National Decarbonization Plan.

He will then have separate meetings with King Felipe VI. of Spain and the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, announces the agenda announced by the Presidential House.

He specifies that the President of Costa Rica will address both issues such as sustainable development, cooperation, trade and investment in green and blue economies.

During his visit to Spain, the first stop of a tour until April 1 that will include France, Alvarado will take part in a high-level discussion organized by the Ibero-American Secretariat General, where he will discuss the importance of a green and inclusive economy in recovery .

The first day will conclude with a working meeting with potential tourism investors to promote Costa Rica as a land of opportunity, characterized by human talent and political and legal security, the text adds.

The Presidential House claims that Alvarado will attend a meeting with the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations tomorrow to advance the trade agenda, as well as a business meeting with the Alianza Iberoamericana Business Council.

On the agenda in Spain is a visit to the Ibero-American Social Security Organization, a meeting with the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, as well as his participation in a meeting with members of the Ibero-American Youth Organization and the inauguration of the photo exhibition: The Ocean.

In France, according to the Presidential House, Alvarado will attend a formal ceremony to unveil the portrait of former President Juan Rafael Mora Porras at the Maison de l’Amérique Latine and will speak to attendees about the opportunities and challenges of the regional and global agenda .

At the end of his official visit, the President of Costa Rica will meet with representatives of the French Development Agency, which has already provided loans for his country’s fiscal consolidation, to discuss cooperative relations.
