Linda Evangelista has finally settled the $50 million CoolSculpting case she filed years after her allegations that the non-invasive, fat-freezing cosmetic procedure left her “permanently disfigured” with “bulges and protrusions.”
The 57-year-old supermodel claimed she was “brutally disfigured” and disabled after rounds of “nightmare” proceedings that began in August 2015 through February 2016.
It is unclear what Evangelista received in the settlement or what terms were negotiated between both parties.
“Glad to have the CoolSculpting case settled,” she shared with her one million Instagram fans on Tuesday.

In September last year, Evangelista filed a lawsuit against CoolSculpting’s parent company, Zeltiq Aesthetics Inc., for $50 million in damages.
The FDA-approved “fat freezing” procedure has become popular as a non-invasive alternative to liposuction.
Earlier this year, the catwalk legend revealed that she has been diagnosed with Paradoxical Fatty Hyperplasia (PAH), a rare side effect affecting less than one percent of CoolSculpting patients in which the freezing process causes the affected fatty tissue to thicken and expand .
Evangelista told People magazine that within three months of the treatment, she noticed bulges on her chin, thighs and bra area that were growing and hardening.

“[My doctor] told me that no diet or exercise would ever cure it,” Evangelista recalled.
A CoolSculpting representative told the outlet that the procedure “has been well studied with more than 100 scientific publications and more than 11 million treatments worldwide,” adding that rare side effects such as PAH “remain well documented in the CoolSculpting information for patients.” and healthcare providers.”
Despite a second liposuction in 2017, PAH returned and Evangelista claimed her posture was even affected.

“It wasn’t even a little bit better,” she said. “The bulges are protrusions. And they are tough. If I go unbelted in a dress, I have chafing to the point of almost bleeding. Because it’s not like grating with soft fat, it’s like grating with hard fat.”
Evangelista returned to the spotlight last week with her first modeling job in years as the star of a Fendi campaign.
“With that sorted out and the current Fendi advertising campaign wrapped up, Linda is ready to try and move on. After literally being in hiding for years, she’s on the road,” a source told People magazine.
“She feels all the goodwill from her industry, from other supermodels and from her fans, and it makes her feel loved.”
