Oscars 2022: Pulp Fiction’s John Travolta, Uma Thurman and Samuel L. Jackson reunite at the Oscars

John Travolta and Uma Thurman recreated their famous twist contest scene from Pulp Fiction while presenting alongside their former co-star Samuel L. Jackson at the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday night.

Before the trio called Will Smith on stage to accept the Best Actor Oscar at the 2022 Academy Awards for his role in King Richard, the cast received applause for capturing the iconic scene for their 1994 Quentin Tarantino-directed film had channeled.

As the duo demonstrated their dance moves, Jackson, 73, stood behind the podium and joked, “Some actors stay in character throughout the shoot… and some just never let go.”

In response, Travolta repeated his character Vincent Vegas’ line, “How about a royale with cheese?”

In a nutshell, Thurman wore a silk white blouse and long black skirt resembling what she wore in the film

To which Travolta interjects, “That’s not true, Sam,” before they all turn their attention to a briefcase in front of them.

“All the murder and chaos that happened in two hours and 45 minutes was about what was in here. And at the end of the film, they stopped the revelation and the audience had to make their own conclusions about the meaning,” they teased.

When viewers almost got a glimpse of the content, there was only one announcement with the name of the winner for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

Despite choosing not to recreate her exact outfits from over two decades ago, her movements, including dancing the Batusi, were fairly accurate.

This is Travolta’s first appearance at the Oscars since he notoriously mispronounced Idina Menzel’s name eight years ago.
