Disney+ Teases Marvel ‘Surprises’ at Comic-Con 2022

In just a few days, Marvel Studios will be back on the Hall H stage for their highly anticipated presentation at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, the company’s first appearance at the event in three years. With a large number of theatrical films and Disney+ shows in the works for the MCU, Marvel fans attending and watching worldwide could be in for more than a few surprises.

Marvel will be showcasing the Disney+ side of the MCU in fun ways at Comic-Con, including photo opportunities from three different Marvel sets that pay homage to She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel. However, thanks to a rumored update from the studio behind the MCU, there could be reason to lower expectations for news coming out of San Diego this weekend.

That report teased that Marvel’s main focus will be on She-Hulk next month and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in November, with the team really set to bring out the big guns at September’s D23 fan convention. But adding to that rumor, a recent bout of social media activity could indicate that MCU fans could be getting more from the expansive Comic-Con.

The official Disney+ Twitter Account shared a message ahead of the upcoming Marvel Studios weekend at San Diego Comic-Con 2022.

Disney+ tagged the Marvel Entertainment side and teased that it was ready to do so “Wonder” to everything coming out of the studio during the panels:

“We’re ready to see all the SDCC surprises!”

Disney+ surprises for Marvel’s Comic-Con weekend?

On a base level, this tweet could simply be viewed as the Marvel Studios streaming home wishing the team well ahead of what should be an exciting weekend in terms of MCU news. But there’s always a chance it could go deeper, as Disney+’s Twitter page could be gearing up to share some exciting news for Marvel Studios’ streaming programs.

In the near future for the MCU is She-Hulk, although this year will also feature I Am Groot next month, along with two different specials for the holiday season and Halloween. Additionally, there are some big new additions set to join the Marvel Studios narrative throughout 2023.

Nearly a half-dozen streaming series are reportedly slated for release on Disney+ over the next year, including the second season of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and the anticipated debut of Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha: House of Harkness. This tweet could tease that Marvel might announce something about these Disney+ shows, maybe even their projected release dates — though there’s no way to tell if the weekend is officially starting.

San Diego Comic-Con 2022 will take place from Thursday, July 21st to Sunday, July 24th.
